COME VISIT US

The Captain

The large apartment, arranged on two floors, is located in the main building of the Manor and its name derives precisely from its historical function, namely that of being, in the Middle Ages, the home of the Captain guarding the fort. The apartment is accessed through a beautiful Tuscan cypress door: all doors are fitted with ancient medieval locks whose mechanics will enchant you just by looking at them. The apartment is divided on the second floor into living room, kitchen and bathroom, while on the second floor, connected by an ancient stone staircase, are the bedrooms and a second bathroom.

The Fireplace Room

The Fireplace room or the Living room, as well as the entrance, enjoys particular brightness given by the large windows overlooking the Medieval Court and the Tuscan Garden. The comfortable leather sofa is the master in the living area that is equipped with a TV corner: details of tuscan charm are the vintage display cabinet with a porcelain tea collection, the ancient sideboard and the old fireplace that has now become a decorative element that evokes the typical tuscan “focarile”: the location is extremely welcoming and embellished with vintage prints of tuscan cities.

The Kitchen

Entering the Captain’s kitchen is like living a dream, the true medieval experience: the exposed stone walls illuminated by a large medieval chandelier, the masonry kitchen with an antique Tuscan suction hood and majolica tiles in antique ochre, the Manor’s own collection of vintage copper, the old chestnut corner piece, the large extendable Tuscan-style table that will host you at your dinners, the enchanting view from the kitchen of the window over the Four Gates Tower… will leave you speechless to say the least.
The rustic Tuscan brick kitchen has a grit sink, large countertop recreated in the old manger, and induction cooktop. The refrigerator and dishwasher are located in the wooden built-ins of the kitchen itself where you will also find pots and pans, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, and everything you need to prepare a beautiful Tuscan dinner!

Two Bathrooms

The apartment offers two bathrooms, one serving the living area and the other serving the sleeping area. Both are completely covered with tuscan majolica from the Florentine Impruneta area and both offer a large shower, toilet, bidet and typical stone sink on a local olive table resting on an ancient sewing machine: a detail of inevitable style and charm.

The Captain’s Room

The main bedroom of the apartment, enjoys a particularly suggestive location with exposed stone wall and two large windows that offer brightness and a breathtaking view of the medieval village of Vicopisano. The beautiful wood canopy bed in antique fir, with high-quality tuscan cotton curtains, has as its background the load-bearing wall of the fort, completely restored with the original exposed stones: at the foot of the bed an ancient period trunk and the wardrobe finish the room lit with a suggestive medieval chandelier.

The Knights’ Chamber

The quadruple bedroom owes its name to the use that was made of it in the Middle Ages: it was a room serving the passing knights. Today, however, the large central room with triple window and tuscan terracotta floors from florentine Impruneta offers two large bunk beds for a total of 4 single big size beds (195cm x 85cm) all made of antique fir, with a medieval security. The rustic tuscan furniture, equipped with satellite and cable TV, also offers a fridge serving the entire sleeping area.

The Lieutenant’s Room

Independent room located on the beautiful background of the fortification walls: with double window on the sides, the location enjoys great brightness with a view of both the internal courtyard of the Manor and the private swimming pool with surrounding walls .. for a truly unique and suggestive awakening! The large four-poster bed in antique fir in the center of the room with tuscan cotton curtains is finely embellished by the wardrobe and the period dresse and the detail of the suitcase as a decorative element gives an unmistakable charm.
